This downhill par 4, measures 438 yards from the championship tee. A good tee shot will leave you with a medium-length iron to a well-protected green. Most of the trouble, however, is behind this green. It is better to leave your second shot a little short and avoid the possibility of landing in the water. The green is an oblong shape and not very deep, so club selection is critical as you attempt to avoid the green side bunkers.

The shortest par 4 on the course demands accuracy off the tee. From the championship tee, players hit their tee shot out of a chute. With a wooded area right of the fairway and water left, it is key to select the right club option and find the fairway.

The second par 5 on the front nine is a risk reward hole. Players will need a well struck tee shot to have a chance to get home in two. Be aware that with a water hazard down the left of the fairway and out of bounds right, you still need to be accurate. For those going for the green with their second shot, anything right of the green will find a creek. With a two tiered putting surface, even the best putters are glad to walk away with a two putt.

The picture below tells the story on the first par 3 at Trump National. Tree lined and with forced carry over water you will need to be straight off the tee. The massive bunker to the left of the green is a very common landing spot as a tricky crosswind can come up and knock down shots headed for the green.

A slight dog leg left, the horse shoe shaped bunker (in photo below) is a good aiming point off the tee. A tee shot too far left will leave your second shot blocked by a grove of trees. The second shot is a short iron played down hill to a lovely green complex tucked in by a pond (left) and bunkers (front).

This long up hill par 4 is dramatically framed by its ten bunkers. You will need two solid shots to reach what is one of the biggest greens on the course. Pitched up hill from front to back, the green has a ridge running through the middle. Be sure to check the hole location so that you can get your approach shot on the right level.

This downhill par 4 starts with a spectacular view from an elevated tee. Situated right next to the clubhouse, players will have a tournament feel as they hit their tee shots in front of an audience of people in the grill room. The approach shot crosses a stunning ravine in which Mr. Trump installed a million dollar system of stone dams. It is easy to see why this hole was voted # 1 in the area by the Westchester Magazine Golf Guide.

Hole #11 starts a difficult stretch of holes at Trump National. Many members view this as our equivalent to Augusta National's "Amen Corner". The tee shot requires absolute accuracy. Coming across the ravine out of a chute, there is a water hazard left and tree lined area right. Your approach shot is to a narrow two tiered green that is guarded by a nest of bunkers on the right reminiscent of the "Church Pew" bunkers at Oakmont.

The 13th hole is considered the course's "Signature Hole". This par 3 is an absolute masterpiece featuring a 101 foot waterfall. This one hole was built at a cost of seven million dollars! While many players are mesmerized by its beauty, # 13 is an extremely challenging golf hole. Not only is there the dramatic waterfall behind the green but there is also a large pond and smaller waterfall in front of the green. Any errant shots are sure to find the water.

A beautiful downhill par 3, # 15 requires a carry over a large pond protecting the green. Take proper care in club selection, anything short will definitely find the water and too much club will land you in a pot bunker behind the green.

The 16th hole is a long straight par 5. The aiming point from the tee is a bunker on the left. Players need to get an accurate yardage for their second shot. Anything too far and you will find the pond the is in front of the green. Good placement will leave you with a shot iron approach. Favor the left side of the green as the contour will force everything to bounce to the right.

A very solid par 4, the fairway is wide enough to give ample landing area for your drive. The approach shot needs to carry the bunker in front of the green. The putting surface will surely test your skill. Pitched up hill from front to back, there are subtle ridges which do not allow for many straight putts.

# 18 is a very strong finishing hole. You will need a solid tee shot as the hole plays up hill not allowing much roll. You will not be able to see the entire putting surface with your second shot so your club selection and alignment is crucial. The putting surface has a great deal of undulation so you will need to get a proper read on your putts.
